MOLFETTA - is attracting significant interest in the Sea Turtle Rescue Centre, WWF Molfetta, judging by the numerous requests for visits are coming from several schools in the city, including several preschools, and schools from several neighboring municipalities.
Already in recent days, the center hosted 140 visitors, including children and adults drawn from the school of Padre Pio Pietrelcina, while in April, is expected to visit from members of the senior citizens center.
The great interest aroused by the structure has led to an agreement with the Department of Social Welfare in Molfetta, Luigi Roselli, for the use of school buses for transporting students from institutes of turtles belonging to the center and vice versa.
There were also several requests for membership from students of scientific disciplines throughout Italy and even France and Spain, interested in playing in next summer, a field of study and work on their own turtles, reflecting the increased interest in the activities of the Centre.
From 2008 to date 4700 people have been able to see well up close the Caretta caretta, but not enough.
In the coming months there will be two major initiatives: the end of April is expected to release a turtle Caretta caretta off the island trembled as in May, two of the three turtles currently housed at the center, will be ready to regain the open sea. The initiative will be implemented under the auspices of the Puglia Region, Provinces of Bari and Bat and the Municipality of Molfetta and will involve all schools in the provinces concerned.
